Full Job Description
Are you interested in a career in mental health dietetics helping patients with nutritional support needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic HCPC Registered Dietitian with good communication and team-working skills. You will be providing an excellent dietetic service via 1:1 assessments and group work on inpatient mental health wards for adults/older adults. This is conjunction with, working in a friendly team to provide dietetic advice to older adults in care homes. Ideally you will have some experience in mental health settings, but it is not compulsory, as support and training can be provided., You will:
Provide a Dietetic service to people admitted to mental health wards and also where required to a Mental Health Rehabilitation unit in Halifax.
Provide Dietetic assessments for older people living in the community under the Care Home Liaison Mental Health Team in Halifax.
Be fully involved in and supported by the MDT (medics, nursing, catering, AHPs), e.g. attending professionals meetings/ward rounds to enable the provision of the best holistic care for the service user. There is a strong MDT approach in both inpatient and community settings
Contribute to student training programme as one of our student placement supervisors, (shared role). Our service offers training for A, B and C placements, which receive excellent feedback
Have the opportunity to lead upon and contribute to audits and nutrition training for staff led by our Dietitians Network. This will help ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
There are Dietetic clinical supervision groups that can support you, and you will benefit from the professional leadership within our Dietitians Network. Our network has an emphasis on evidence-based and innovative practice.
