Specialist Dietitian

You will have the opportunity to work with many experienceddietitiansacross thewider medical dietetic team, as well as within broader multi-professional teams. You will be working with otherdietitians anddieteticassistantpractitioners, and together you will provide inpatient services across areas, includinggeneralmedicine,gastroenterology,neurologycare of theelderly,strokeandacuterenal disease. The post holder willalsohavetheopportunity tolead thenutrition and hydration education programfor theYork andScarboroughHospitalsites, which isanexcitingnewopportunitywhich will supportyourleadership development. The department places a strong emphasis on peer support and clinical supervision, and has a well-established programme facilitatingthe training ofdietetic students on the three clinical placements included within theireducationaltraining. Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY. Remote interviews will not be available.

You willbe proactive, organised and looking to gain more experience and knowledge in clinical coordination of the general medical inpatient caseload, and diabetes outpatient clinics. Overseeing the more complex general medicine caseload, includingantenatal diabetes outpatient care,andgeneralmedicineinpatientcaresuchasnutrition supportincludingsocial circumstances,learning disability with and without enteral feedingandhomeenteral feedingdischarges. The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
