Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist

We are welcoming applications for a Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist to join our Multi-disciplinary (MDT) Foot Team at the Thomas Addison Diabetes Department at St George's Hospital. St George's Hospital is the Vascular Hub Site for South- West London and so the team are instrumental in the care of patients escalated for specialist vascular care from neighbouring spoke hospitals.
You will join our friendly and dynamic team of podiatrists and our podiatry assistant to provide enhanced practice in the assessment, diagnosis and management of complex diabetes-related lower limb conditions.
You will integrate and communicate regularly with our speciality MDT colleagues including diabetes medics and nurses, infection diseases, vascular surgeons and nurses, orthopaedic surgeon, interventional radiology, psychology and community specialities.
You will co-ordinate and implement holistic care plans in line with MDT support. We will provide structured training and competency sign off for advanced care therapies which may include treatments such as topical negative pressure therapy and total contact casting.
The service is fully integrated within the hospital which provides several exciting rotational and development opportunities in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The team is committed to service improvement work, recently working together with colleagues from across Southwest London to get innovative new treatments approved for patients with diabetes foot infections

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma. Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
