Full Job Description
Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN's) work at individual, community and population level in a preventative social model of health, designed to empower families to take control of and improve their own health and wellbeing.
Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and families within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight? Do you want to make a difference and feel valued in your work? Are you a recently qualified nurse or midwife or an experienced practitioner and considering a career change? If so, we would love to help you develop your skills and support you in your learning. We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and innovative practitioners to train as Health Visitors, to lead 0-19 Public Health Nursing and deliver great service to our children and families in Hampshire and Isle of Wight., To be a health visitor, you need to be an NMC registered nurse or midwife with
- an interest in children and public health
- excellent communication skills
- to be well organised
- confidence
- to be able demonstrate leadership skills You will need to be able to cope with potentially challenging situations such as child safeguarding. You need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team and will be flexible, observant and able to prioritise effectively.
