Full Job Description
The post holder will be based at St Johns Court, Exmouth and will be line managed by the Consultant Psychiatrist within the team. They will be responsible for carrying a small caseload, would be expected to support colleagues with complex cases and provide prescribing advice., The post holder will be expected to cover days at Devon Memory Service (DMS). In the absence of senior colleagues the post holder will be responsible for leading team meetings. They will also need to support with triaging new patients to the team. As a prescriber in the team the post holder will be expected to support in the prescribing needs of care homes and support in decision making for our new Post Diagnostic Follow Up (PDFU) Service. The post holder will monitor and lead improvements of standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, implementation of evidence based practice, teaching and support of colleagues and professional leadership., Please refer to the full Job Description and Person specification attached to this advert which will provide further information on this role.

- Clinical based Degree, supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses. Post basic qualification in speciality Application Non-Medical Prescriber (V300) at level 6 Current registration with the NMC or HCPC., An excellent understanding of the NSF, 5 year forward review for mental health and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements. CPA Process Awareness of community structures and social care options and processes, Reporting analysis to a range of stakeholders in a manner that is clear and easily understood. Able to own problems and get involved in the solutions. Ability to manage risk. Ability to assess and interpret specialist acute and other patient conditions, High level communication skills including: Presentation and facilitation skills; Consultation and engagement skills. An ability to adjust communication effectively to meet the needs of a diverse group including internal and external stakeholders. Good organisational and interpersonal skills, tact and sensitivity. Ability to gain trust. Ability to influence significant changes in service delivery through motivation and encouragement which may be highly complex and sensitive and include some barriers to understanding. Ability to contribute to the supervision and development of others. Confidence to deliver sometimes contentious and difficult messages to a broad range of stake holders. Planning and Organisational Skills,
- Developing short to medium term project based action plans. Prioritise and adjust workload to address the changing needs of the organisation Flexible approach and ability to work independently and on own initiative as well as part of a team. Ability to undertake special projects in regard to service improvement and collaborative working with other stakeholders.
