Full Job Description

The role of Specialist Childrens Occupational Therapist involves working autonomously to manage a caseload of community patients aged 0 to 19 years presenting with a wide range of developmental, neurological, and physical needs.

The post holder will be responsible for assessment and sound clinical reasoning, goal setting, intervention/treatment planning and delivery, and discharge to support flow through the service.

The position also includes job planned time working within the Specialist Sensory Processing service, delivering specialist sensory assessments and to support evidence-based treatment, working towards meaningful patient outcomes. The post will play a vital role in enabling children to achieve their potential and participate fully in childhood occupations.

This position will enhance both Occupational Therapy core and specialist skills within the field of paediatrics at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Teaching NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible for defined service development projects supporting the work of lead clinicians and will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

The post holder will work efficiently and effectively across a range of health, community and educational settings, under the supervision of an experienced therapist.
