Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Arts Therapist to join Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS team (Tier 2) in a band 6 role. The post if fixed term (0.9 WTE - 33.75 hours per week) starting earliest august 2026 until August 2027, dates to be agreed at time of appointment.

We keen to developing our service and start increasing access to arts therapies for children, young people and their families/carers we work with.

We welcome applications from newly qualified Arts Therapists with some experience of working with children and young people, from CAMHS, from other sectors, or from training placements. We will provide robust supervision and support to develop both clinical practice and generic CAMHS competencies.

The Community CAMHS team sits within the broader H&F CAMHS and is comprised of Psychologists, CBT therapist, Family therapists, Social Workers and Children's Wellbeing Practitioners. Our team also have many trainees from different disciplines. The team is a multidisciplinary team, offering a range of targeted, early interventions to children and young people age 0-18 who are experiencing mild-moderate mental health difficulties.

West London Mental Health Trust is committed to provide ongoing staff development and training via inhouse CPD and providing opportunities for practice development and shared learning., The post holder will provide a qualified specialist Arts Therapy service to children and adolescents in Hammersmith and Fulham Tier 2 CAMHS aged 0 -18 and their families under supervision of experienced and senior Arts Therapist.

The clinic setting is based in central Hammersmith and there may be some limited travel to other parts of the borough to attend community settings.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures and will be supported to develop their skills and abilities in generic CAMHS competencies by contributing to duty and CAMHS assessments as appropriate under close and supportive supervision.

Other aspects of the role include developing relationships with key partner agencies and community organisations working locally with children and young people, i.e. schools, GPs, social workers, community groups etc.

The post holder will be well supported in role, with a clear job plan, regular clinical supervision and line management, as well as opportunities to connect with the wider H&F CAMHS, and trust-wide CAMHS colleagues.
