Location: Tower Hamlets, East London Contract: Part-Time (3-4 days per week) Duration: Immediate Start - January 2027 Interviews: Friday, 1st May The Opportunity Are you a dedicated SEND professional looking to make a tangible impact in a vibrant, diverse community? We are seeking a qualified and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join one of our welcoming primary schools in the heart of Tower Hamlets. This is a pivotal role, providing a long-term role starting immediately and extending through to the beginning of 2027. We offer a supportive leadership team and a school environment committed to inclusive excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of the school's SEND policy and provision. Student Support: Coordinate and oversee the support for pupils with EHCPs and high-needs funding. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies (Educational
  • Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists) to ensure holistic care.
  • Compliance: Maintain accurate records, manage annual reviews, and ensure the school meets all statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice. Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to staff and Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive classroom environment. Requirements Mandatory: National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO). Experience: Proven track record of working as a SENDCo within a primary setting. Knowledge: Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Tower Hamlets local offer. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
