Full Job Description

This is a free-issue site serving breakfast and lunch daily. We also host occasional events, usually no more than four per year. Service is varied and includes buffet-style service, bistro-style plated meals, themed food days, and a large salad bar. Each day can have a slightly different service setup, so flexibility is important. Experience in contract catering would be ideal, but we are happy to support and develop the right person who has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.,

  • Supervise and support two Kitchen Porters, working closely with the Head Chef and Hospitality Sous Chef.
  • Help run the daily kitchen operation, serving up to 150 covers per day.
  • Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
  • Support the Head Chef with menu planning and preparation for a busy catering environment.
  • Oversee daily food preparation, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and fully compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Assist with new menu ideas and dishes.
  • Support food cost control and kitchen budgets.
