Sous Chef - London

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, quality ingredients and takes pride in delivering food that people genuinely look forward to eating. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver an exciting, varied and consistently high standard of food across daily staff dining and hospitality services. The role combines hands-on cooking with team leadership, kitchen organisation and operational support, making it ideal for a Sous Chef who enjoys being involved in all aspects of the kitchen. Your Role

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and staff dining operation.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during preparation and service.
• Deliver fresh, well-presented and nutritious food to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with menu planning and development, bringing new ideas and seasonal dishes to the operation.
• Ensure food is produced efficiently and in the correct quantities for daily service.
• Maintain excellent standards of taste, presentation, portion control and consistency.
• Support the delivery of hospitality, events and additional catering requirements when required.
• Ensure all food safety, allergen, health & safety and hygiene standards are fully maintained.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries, rotation, storage and waste management.
• Monitor food quality and service standards throughout the day.
• Help train, develop and support junior members of the kitchen team.
• Step up and take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
  
  We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join a professional contract catering team delivering high-quality staff dining within a busy corporate environment., Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.
• Experience within contract catering, staff dining, hotels, restaurants or other high-volume food operations.
• Strong cooking skills with a passion for fresh, quality food.
• Experience managing a busy service and supporting a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of food costs, stock control and kitchen efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens and HACCP procedures.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• A positive, hands-on approach to leadership.
• Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy service environment.
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent food and customer service.
