We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef's to join our busy team based predominantly at Strand Campus. You may be asked to cover at other campuses from time to time. Reporting into the Head Chef you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen operations focusing on quality and consistency and adhering to all food safety and allergen safety., At King's, we believe that the diversity of our community and a culture that is welcoming, open, inclusive and collaborative, are great strengths of the university. This is a hands-on role and ideally you will have experience at a similar level and above all else have the drive to deliver excellence of service. This is a busy and challenging role, and the ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

- Financial awareness with the ability to manage costs., To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria
- Hold a recognised catering qualification
- Hold a food handlers' certificate - Intermediate level
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking and portion control
- Experience of food preparation for large numbers
- Experience of hospitality and events catering
- Excellent cooking skills
- Excellent management skills
- Experience of developing a team Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of food allergens
- Knowledge of special diets
King's Food provides a range of retail and hospitality services through our restaurants and coffee shops across The Strand, Waterloo, Denmark Hill, Guys and St Thomas campuses. The department has a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and aims to ensure best value for money for its customers and the College.
The contract is offered on a five out of 7 days basis and will involve working evenings and weekends. This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
