Full Job Description

This is an opportunity to work on intellectually stimulating legal issues while making a direct difference to residents and communities. In return, you'll benefit from:

  • A broad and diverse caseload
  • Complex, high-profile work with real public impact
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The chance to build a rewarding long-term legal career without the pressures of billable hour targets
  • Join us If you're looking for high-quality legal work, greater variety and the opportunity to see the impact of your advice first-hand, we'd love to hear from you.

We are seeking a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx with strong housing litigation experience and excellent drafting, advocacy and communication skills. Local government experience is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates in private practice, housing associations and other sectors. What matters most is a sound understanding of the relevant law, strong judgement and the ability to apply legal principles confidently to real-world problems. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience of homelessness law and homelessness appeals. If you have relevant experience in this area, please highlight it in your application.

Join the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster's highly regarded Bi-borough Legal Services Litigation team and work on a varied and challenging caseload covering possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour, housing disrepair, leasehold disputes, homelessness appeals, allocations, judicial review and wider local government litigation. You'll provide practical legal advice on complex and often high-profile matters, helping deliver lawful, effective and resident-focused services across one of London's most dynamic boroughs.
