Full Job Description
To provide high-quality, timely and accurate legal advice and support to officers, members and clients, ensuring that Legal Services contributes effectively to the delivery of organisational priorities. We are looking to recruit Senior Solicitors/lawyers across the following work areas: Adult Social Care Main Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of matters relevant to the post-holder's area of law.
- Provide clear and accurate legal advice to officers and clients on routine to complex matters.
- Support senior colleagues on more complex or high-risk cases as required.
- Manage a busy caseload
- Represent the Council in legal proceedings commensurate with the role's level of responsibility.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and best practice
- Contribute to training sessions and updates for officers and clients where appropriate.
We are seeking to recruit Senior Solicitors/Lawyers to undertake varied, high-quality work with like-minded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and excellent client care. The ideal candidate will be able to work with limited supervision and manage a busy diverse case load., - Ability to provide practical and solution-focused advice.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Confidence in working independently while recognising when to seek support.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy local government environment to meet deadlines as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Specific Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified solicitor or barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Post qualification experience in relevant area of law.
- Understanding of local government or public sector work (desirable).
- Ability to negotiate and influence in day-to-day legal matters., Must be able to travel, using public or other forms of transport where viable, or by holding a valid UK driving licence with access to own or pool car., Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.

Starting salary for this role is £48,226 (pro rata for part-time colleagues) (plus a local market supplement of £10,445 at the start of the band)
