Full Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor to join our Document Review and Collation (DRC) team in a substantive, client-facing role with real scope for career development. The DRC team provides multi-disciplinary expertise and scalable legal resource to support all TLT legal groups when delivering large-scale projects and legal managed services for our clients. The team is made up of qualified Solicitors and Paralegals who support both contentious and non-contentious fee earners from across the firm, working predominantly on data subject access requests (DSARs) and document review and disclosure exercises. We work across a wide range of matters - from short, focused tasks to extended project-based engagements requiring a dedicated team over several months. As the team continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Solicitor to join us, take ownership of key workflows, and develop their career within a specialist legal operations environment.Role Responsibilities This role supports and oversees the DSAR workstream from scoping through to delivery, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with legal, client and regulatory requirements. This includes applying legal judgement to disclosure, redaction, privilege, confidentiality, exemptions and data protection issues, while helping to shape practical delivery approaches for high-volume or complex review matters. As a key addition to the team, day to day you will have involvement in:

  • Managing DSAR, document review and eDiscovery workstreams from receipt or scoping through to final delivery, with outputs completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed legal, client and statutory timeframes
  • Second-level review and quality control, ensuring work progresses within timeframes and budget, whilst also ensuring the appropriate application of data protection principles, exemptions, privilege, confidentiality, disclosure obligations and agreed coding or review protocols. This also includes acting as the final quality-control checkpoint before DSAR responses are issued
  • High-quality legal and operational support across document review and managed legal services projects, applying sound judgement to both routine and complex matters and escalating risks appropriately
  • Using technology to improve how work is delivered, including supporting the use of platforms and tools such as Relativity, Legora, Microsoft Copilot and other review or workflow solutions to enhance quality, consistency and efficiency
  • Supporting junior colleagues, project workers and reviewers through guidance, informal or delegated supervision, quality feedback and day-to-day oversight, helping to build capability and maintain consistent delivery standards
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, clients and suppliers through clear communication, practical guidance and timely updates, helping to ensure smooth delivery across matters and workstreams
  • Contributing to business-development activities (through client-facing responsibilities and commercial support)

Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, equivalent legal qualification, or relevant experience gained through document review, eDiscovery, legal operations, ALSP, managed legal services or similar delivery environments
  • Experience in high-volume DSAR caseloads, document review, eDiscovery, investigations, regulatory work, litigation support, managed legal services, ALSP delivery or a comparable legal operations / shared services environment
  • Experience performing quality control, second-level review or supervision of document review, DSAR or eDiscovery outputs
  • Experience advising and providing estimates and quotes to internal and external clients
  • Strong legal, analytical and practical judgement, with the ability to apply principles relating to disclosure, redaction, privilege, confidentiality, data protection and exemptions
  • Experience using document review or legal technology platforms, such as Relativity or similar tools
  • Interest in/experience of technology-enabled legal delivery, including the use of tools such as Legora, Microsoft Copilot, workflow tools, analytics or automation to improve quality and efficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently within a structured, deadline-driven environment
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • A practical, creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage issues quickly and effectively

The DRC team is one of TLT's genuine success stories. We have a cadre of highly capable and committed Paralegals and Solicitors who consistently deliver high-quality work and represent TLT professionally in all client dealings. Our DSAR function in particular is widely regarded as a centre of excellence within the firm, and growing client demand for eDiscovery support presents a real and exciting commercial opportunity for the team.
  • For a Solicitor joining at this stage of their career, the DRC team offers something that is genuinely difficult to find: the breadth of a Managed Legal Services environment - exposure to Disclosure, Investigations, Due Diligence and Data Privacy work - combined with the collegiate support structure of a top-30 UK law firm. We are committed to the professional development of all team members. We are developing a structured progression framework setting out the competency and performance criteria required to progress at each level, and sustained high performance is recognised and rewarded. There is a real opportunity to grow with the team as it expands its client-facing offering and develops new service lines.About TLT Fast paced, fast growing and forward thinking, TLT is the law firm that helps clients stay one step ahead, and we do the same for our people. With local, national and international reach, we have over 1,800 people in offices across the UK and a network of partner firms across Europe, India and the US. Over the last few years TLT's successful growth, delivery of high-quality work and support for colleagues has been consistently recognised by The Times and at the Legal Business, The Lawyer and British Legal Awards. Our ambition is to create opportunities for what comes next for our clients, recognised as their 1st tier adviser and being valued for our values. We do this in our unique way by creating social value and a dynamic environment where our people are curious, creative and ambitious for their success. In our open and collaborative culture, we encourage everyone to be their whole self, to have a voice and to contribute to the success of TLT.

We value our employees highly and we want you to feel valued. You'll receive a competitive salary with an annual pay review. You will also have access to an extensive range of benefits via our flexible benefits scheme including 25 days holiday (which will increase to 30 days based upon length of service) and private medical insurance. At TLT we have a progressive fully flexible working approach. We empower our people to work in a place and at a time that meets their needs, those of their clients and of the wider team and firm. Part of this agile approach is a focus on hybrid working and supporting the work/life balance of our people. We're happy to talk about how flexible working can work for you and this role.
