Full Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Solicitor to join our Adult Social Care Team, supporting vital work that makes a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable adults in Stoke-on-Trent.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor wanting to develop a rewarding career in social care law. Whilst experience in this area is desirable, it is not essential as we welcome applicants from a wide range of legal backgrounds who are keen to learn and grow in this specialist field. The role involves advising and representing the Local Authority on all Adult Social Care matters, including Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Court of Protection, Deferred Payment Agreements, Deprivation of Liberty, and Judicial Reviews. Your knowledge will be instrumental in guiding the Local Authority through complex legal matters and safeguarding the interests of vulnerable individuals., ·To undertake all aspects of Adultssocial care legal work.
·To personally manage a significant case load, including complex cases, within the specialist area.
·To provide specialist and timely advice on Adult social care matters.
·To undertake advocacy as necessary in all courts, including the Court of Protection.
·To provide training to the client department on all aspects of the law relating to the relevant area.
·To demonstrate a willingness to assist in other areas of work covered by the Social Care Legal Team.
We are looking for someone who:
·Is a qualified Solicitor
·Has strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
·Demonstrates a genuine interest in social care law and public service
·Is able to manage their own caseload effectively
·Works well both independently and as part of a team
·Is able to manage competing demands
· Preferably has relevant experience.
