Full Job Description
The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. The central Outreach team is seeking to recruit Sociology/Criminology students to welcome groups of college students onto the Manchester Met campus as they take part in a Criminology/Sociology subject taster afternoon throughout the academic year. The successful candidates will meet the students, accompany them as they attend an Introduction to Sociology and Criminology lecture, and support an academic as they deliver smaller breakout workshops across the afternoon. You will then accompany the students to a Q&A-style 'Future Me' panel event where they will meet sociology and criminology alumni. You will be expected to provide a positive and informative perspective on all aspects of studying sociology/criminology at Manchester Met and being a part of the Manchester Met University community. Responsibilities:
- Direct visiting students from lecture theatres to breakout seminar rooms Support the academic leading the breakout workshop sessions Answer any questions about studying sociology or criminology and wider questions about students' lives. You can direct complex questions to Outreach and teaching staff. You will receive full briefing ahead of the event to ensure you can guide students successfully and confidently as they attend the event and understand what your role is during the afternoon workshops, Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
