Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Social Workers to join Warrington Borough Council's Specialist Teams Service with vacancies in the Learning Disability Team., As a social worker you will play a fundamental role in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in Warrington. You will support clients using a range of legislative frameworks, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Mental Health Act 1983 to co-produce person-centered assessments and creative support plans to achieve holistic outcomes for our clients. You'll also lead safeguarding responses to protect adults at risk of abuse and neglect. We are looking for people with a can-do attitude and strong social work values. The Specialist Team Service is made up of five teams: The Learning Disability Team, Mental Health Teams 1 & 2, The Sensory, Physical & Neurological Team, and the Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) Team. As a service, we primarily work with adults aged 18-65 years, or 16-25 within the PFA team. We support people with a diverse range of complex needs including physical disabilities, mental health issues, learning disability, acquired brain injury, and autistic spectrum conditions. You will be supported by a Team Manager and Senior Practitioner and work alongside other social workers, community care workers, apprentice social workers and admin support. We provide our staff with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge through training and professional development with Court of Protection, S42 Adult Safeguarding Enquiries, Continuing Health Care, and Mental Capacity Assessments & Best Interest Decisions. In relation to these posts, we will consider applications from Social Workers at a Grade 07 (£34,434 - £38,220) / Grade 8 (£39,152 - £42,839) depending on experience. Grade 8 Experienced Social workers have the opportunity for career progression and can go on to undertake training to become an Approved Mental Health Professional role (AMHP) Practice Educator (PE) and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) roles.   • To be able to work 37 Hours per week
  • Full and current driving licence, The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
