Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Worker with post ASYE experience in the South Young People's Team. Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants and you will work closely with our colleagues in Disabled Children's Social Work Teams and other key agencies, such as Health, Education and the voluntary sector., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence - The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
Interviews will take place on Thursday, 2 July 2026 at Kroner House, Ashford.
You will be working with disabled young people aged between 18 and 25 supporting them to progress towards independence. The role within our team will enable you to gain further experience in a wide range of work including Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and supporting young people into adulthood.
You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to disabled young people, their families and carers.
You will hold a Degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England and have a variety of post-qualification experience.
