Full Job Description
We are recruiting for the role of Social Worker in our Parenting Practitioner Team within Family Help North., Warwickshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. In accordance with the DBS and our own policy, should an individual have a declared criminal offence an individual assessment will be completed. Warwickshire County Council adheres to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
- Professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW)
- In depth experience in children's social work and experience of complex cases
- Have excellent analytical skills with ability to make well informed decisions
- Can record and produce concise, effective, and accurate reports

The Parenting Practitioner is a team made up of Social Workers and Senior Family Support Workers who complete Parenting Assessments and Prebirth Assessments to assess a parent's ability to safely meet a child's physical, emotional, and developmental needs. These assessments take place within the remit of Public Law Outline and Care Proceedings alternatively a prebirth assessment within Child In Need and Child Protection where there has been a history of removal of previous children. Parenting Assessments and prebirth assessments will also utilize the specialised framework 'Parent Assess' for parents with learning disabilities or complex needs. Assessment methods and processes include direct observations, multiagency collaboration, interviews with parents and direct work with children. Outcomes and recommendations focus on safeguarding decisions to determine whether a child can remain safely at home or require alternative care planning. This is in addition to support planning which outlines specific services or intervention steps needed to reduce risk to the child.' Our practice is firmly grounded in Restorative Principles.
