This role is for individuals who have completed their social work qualification and are registered with Social Work England. As a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW), you will work within a restorative, trauma-informed and strengths-based framework, building meaningful relationships with children, young people and families to promote safety, resilience and positive outcomes. You will contribute to a range of voluntary and statutory social work activities, applying professional values, evidence-informed practice and social work ethics. With support from your Team Manager and/or Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a caseload of children in need, children at risk of significant harm, and/or children who are looked after, working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to promote safety, stability and wellbeing. There is an expectation that you will successfully complete the relevant Newly Qualified Social Worker programme within agreed timescales, demonstrating your ongoing development and readiness for confident, effective social work practice. Duties include: Core responsibilities and duties will include:

• To carry out statutory social work duties on behalf of Children's Services in relation to children, young people and their families, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• To be responsible for a managed caseload, under the supervision and guidance of a Team Manager and Advanced Practitioner.
• To undertake social work assessments, planning and intervention, working collaboratively with children, young people, families and partner agencies to identify strengths, understand needs and promote positive outcomes.
• To work with children and families within a restorative, trauma-informed and strengths-based framework, in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and professional standards.
• To successfully complete the relevant Newly Qualified Social Worker programme within agreed timescales, participating in training, learning and development opportunities, and maintaining registration with Social Work England.
• To work effectively as part of the team, contributing to a supportive learning environment and assisting colleagues where appropriate.
• To develop and maintain effective partnerships with children, young people, families, carers, communities and partner agencies.
• To participate in the duty system as required.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post., Without question the best bit of my job is the team I work in; we are like a family and the support from them, and our managers is incredible. Even on the toughest of days, with the shortest deadlines, they rally round, lift spirits and we share laughter and endless cups of tea. I have always had really good, regular, reflective supervision to help me work through the difficult cases, and the endless emails offering training opportunities for a wide variety of specialisms and interests have meant that I am never short of examples to use for writing up my CPD, just the time in which to do it.
