Social Media Executive

At Pets at Home, we're looking for a creative, social-first Social Media Executive to help bring our brand, products, services, colleagues and customers to life across our social channels. From filming adorable pet content in stores and practices to supporting influencer partnerships and growing online communities, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the social presence of the UK's leading pet care business. The role offers a 12-month fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave, and hybrid working (two office days per week) from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire. Key responsibilities will include;

• Creating engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platforms
• Filming, editing and publishing social-first video and photo content
• Capturing content across stores, veterinary practices, support offices and events
• Supporting social campaigns, key marketing moments and always-on content activity
• Managing content calendars, scheduling posts and monitoring channel performance
• Engaging with our online communities and identifying opportunities to drive conversation
• Supporting influencer collaborations and employee-generated content programmes
• Monitoring trends, platform updates and audience insights to help optimise performance
  
  Experience in social media, content creation, marketing or digital communications
• Strong knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube
• Confidence creating, filming and editing short-form video content
• Experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, CapCut or Canva
• Excellent storytelling, copywriting and communication skills
• A keen eye for trends and an understanding of what makes great social content
• Confidence working both behind and in front of the camera
• A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects

• Experience creating content for retail, lifestyle, consumer or pet-related brands
• Influencer or creator partnership experience
• Community management or social listening experience
• Involvement in employee advocacy or employee-generated content programmes
