Full Job Description

Carry out housing needs assessments in line with housing legislation and local authority policy
Assess applications for social housing, including eligibility, priority and banding
Manage a caseload of applicants and provide clear advice on housing options
Allocate properties in accordance with the housing allocations scheme
Liaise with applicants, internal teams, housing providers and external agencies
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements
Respond to enquiries and appeals in a timely and professional manner
Contribute to service improvement and performance targets

Previous experience in housing assessments, allocations or lettings within a local authority or social housing environment
Good understanding of housing legislation, homelessness duties and allocations schemes
Experience managing complex caseloads and working to deadlines
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to make sound decisions and explain outcomes clearly to customers
Confident IT skills and experience using housing management systems
Standard DBS check required
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Professional, empathetic and customer-focused approach
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday), operating on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office.
£21.41 per hour (PAYE)
£28.19 per hour (Umbrella)
