Social Communication Teacher ( Maternity Cover)

TERM: Fixed Term, Maternity Cover

DAYS: Monday - Friday, 5 days per week

GRADE: MPS/UPS + SEN point 1 or 2 - depending on skills and experience - ECT's welcome

· To promote the development of the Equal Opportunities Policy throughout all aspects of school life.

· To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils studying in the curriculum area, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies of the school.

· To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils.

· To foster pupil enjoyment and satisfaction in the study of Curriculum Team responsibility.

· To provide excellent learning opportunities for all pupils.

OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES:

To promote actively the school's policies.

· To continue personal development as agreed.

· To actively engage in the staff review and development process.

· To undertake any other duty as specified by the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document not mentioned in the above.

· To comply with the school's induction procedures.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:

The post holder will be required to undertake any other duties of an equal nature appropriate to the post as determined by the Headteacher.

The Conditions of Employment applicable to teachers in accordance with the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document apply to this post.

GENERAL:

Health and safety

The post holder has a responsibility for his/her own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. In addition, Supervisors have responsibility to ensure that, on a day-to-day basis, work is conducted within the framework of all local guidelines and policy. There is a requirement for travelling between sites on a regular basis. All managers are responsible for implementing the School's Health, Safety and Welfare Policy within their area of responsibility.

· These pupils have diverse and complex needs including Autism, sensory needs, and communication difficulties.

· You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop emotional regulation, social interaction, and confidence in a nurturing and structured environment.

· You'll be part of a close-knit team of 43 dedicated SEN teachers who offer a friendly and collaborative teaching culture.

· You'll use and share adaptive teaching techniques to meet a curriculum working on developing social skills, interactions and emotional regulation through structured activities using a variety of teaching methods.
