Full Job Description
As a Social Care Team Development Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and foster carers to identify learning needs and develop effective learning solutions that support practice improvement. This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with practitioners, managers and foster carers across Children's Services, helping to create a positive culture of learning and professional development. You will play a key role in shaping and coordinating learning and development programmes that respond to organisational priorities and workforce needs. This will involve designing, commissioning and, where appropriate, delivering engaging learning activities and training that support staff and foster carers to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence. You will also support the evaluation of learning and development programmes, assessing their impact on practice and their contribution to improved outcomes for children and families. In addition, you will promote learning opportunities across the service, encouraging participation and maximising engagement and attendance. Working closely with colleagues, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of learning and development across the directorate, ensuring that provision remains relevant, effective and responsive to changing needs. We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and solution-focused, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Above all, you will have a genuine commitment to supporting the development of others and helping individuals and teams achieve their full potential.
- Knowledge and/or experience of learning and development.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, procedural frameworks and practice standards within children's social care.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, influence others and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in learning and development, children's social care, fostering, workforce development or related fields. If you are passionate about supporting professional development and improving outcomes for children and families, we would encourage you to apply, even if your experience does not align perfectly with every aspect of the role.
- 26 days' holiday, rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 31 days after 5 years' service (pro-rated for part time opportunities)
- Option to buy up to 10 days of additional annual leave
- A generous local government salary related pension
- Up to 5 days of carer's leave and 2 paid volunteering days per year
- Paternity, adoption and dependents leave
- An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support health and wellbeing
- Learning and development hub where you can access a wealth of resources
- Wellbeing and lifestyle discounts including gym, travel, and shopping
