Snr Deputy CMO and Dir of Clinical Commissioning

We are seeking an exceptional senior clinical leader to join our executive team as Senior Deputy Chief Medical and Outcomes Officer and Director of Clinical Commissioning. This is a high-profile strategic role providing clinical leadership across commissioning, outcomes improvement, quality, service transformation and acute care delivery.

Acting as the principal deputy to the Chief Medical and Outcomes Officer, you will play a leading role in shaping strategic commissioning decisions, driving clinically led transformation and ensuring the highest standards of quality, patient outcomes and value for money. Working across organisational and system boundaries, you will influence senior clinicians, executives and partners to deliver innovative, evidence-based approaches that improve population health outcomes, reduce inequalities and support sustainable healthcare services.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute at executive level, helping to shape the future direction of services and ensuring clinical leadership remains at the heart of decision-making., You will provide executive leadership for clinical commissioning, strategic planning and service transformation programmes, ensuring commissioning decisions are informed by robust clinical evidence, population health intelligence and quality improvement methodologies. They will lead major programmes across acute care, urgent and emergency care, elective recovery, diagnostics and pathway redesign, driving improvements in quality, access, productivity and patient outcomes.

Working closely with executive colleagues and system partners, the successful candidate will support the development of long-term clinical strategy, commissioning intentions and sustainable models of care. They will provide leadership to senior clinical teams, support the development of future clinical leaders and foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and collaboration.

The role includes building strong relationships across providers and partner organisations, providing assurance on performance and outcomes, and influencing strategic decisions that support both improved patient care and the effective use of public resources.
