We put our customers first and prioritise completing schemes safely, efficiently and to a high standard.As a Slinger Signaller working on the Lower Thames Crossing, you will play a vital role in the efficient and safe movement of materials and equipment on site for the Lower Thames Crossing project. This position ensures that all lifting and signalling operations are conducted in compliance with site safety standards, contributing to the timely and effective delivery of one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projectsWhat you'll be doingLifting Operations
- Safely attach and detach loads to and from lifting equipment such as cranes.
- Signal machine operators to facilitate the safe movement of loads across the site.
- Ensure correct lifting practices are followed, keeping within operational parameters. Safety Compliance
- Inspect and check lifting equipment before use to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all equipment is stored safely.
- Report any faults, incidents, or near misses immediately to the Site Supervisor. Communication
- Work closely with crane operators, supervisors, and other site operatives to achieve safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Use approved hand signals, radio systems, or other methods to coordinate lifting activities effectively. General Support
- Assist with other site duties, as required, including general labour tasks.
- Support the team in responding to changes in operational demands
Valid CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) Card or NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) certification - Slinger/Signaller. - Previous experience working as a Slinger Signaller on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of lifting operations and relevant safety legislation (e.g., LOLER Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
- Good verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with crane operators and site staff. Desirable
- Knowledge of traffic management and on-site logistics.
- First Aid training or familiarity with emergency procedures on site
