Assist with general site duties when lifting operations are not taking place. For this position, you must have the following: Valid CPCS A40 Slinger/Signaller card or NPORS equivalent. Proven experience as a Slinger/Signaller on heavy civils, infrastructure or major construction projects. Demonstrable experience handling large steel pipes, structural steelwork or other heavy/awkward loads. Experience working in tight, restricted or congested working environments. Strong understanding of lifting operations, crane safety and load control. Ability to accurately interpret and work in accordance with lifting plans and RAMS. Competent with lifting accessories and understanding of safe working loads. Strong communication skills, particularly when directing crane operations in challenging environments. Ability to work safely around cranes, heavy plant and other
other heavy/awkward loads. Select and use the correct lifting accessories for each load and lifting operation. Direct crane operators using approved hand signals and radio communications. Safely manoeuvre and position loads in extremely restricted and congested areas. Maintain constant awareness of surrounding plant, structures, personnel and other site activities. Follow approved lifting plans, RAMS and site-specific lifting procedures. Establish and maintain appropriate exclusion zones around lifting operations. Ensure all personnel remain clear of suspended loads and lifting areas. Carry out pre-use inspections of slings, shackles, chains and other lifting accessories. Identify and report damaged or defective lifting equipment immediately. Assist with controlled landing, positioning and alignment of pipework where required. Communicate effectively with the Crane Supervisor, lifting team and site management. Stop lifting operations immediately where conditions become unsafe or outside the, site operations, Good understanding of UK construction health and safety requirements. Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a professional lifting team. This temporary work for a Slinger/Signaller is for 1 month future works required with the same client. The type of work for a Slinger/Signaller will be suit an experienced Slinger/Signaller who is comfortable working in high-pressure, safety-critical environments and understands the importance of precision when moving large loads in confined spaces. You must have previous proven experience in working on energy, utilities or major infrastructure projects with pipe installation or pipe-handling operations.
