Full Job Description
The Sleep Nurse Associate will work under the direction of the Sleep Specialist Nurses, providing specialist nursing care, support, education and advice to patients, their carer and other health care professionals regarding management of their condition., 1. With oversight prepare and set up new patients on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). This involves patient assessment, explanation of Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and CPAP therapy, mask fitting, trial of CPAP equipment and downloading compliance data.
2. With oversight prepare and assist in the setup of new patients up on Non-invasive ventilation, this also includes explanation into therapy, mask fitting and trial of NIV equipment and downloading Compliance data and taking appropriate action as necessary.
3. To deal with clinical queries from new and long-term CPAP and NIV users over the telephone and by email.
4. To provide Home sleep studies and oximetry on an outpatient basis.
5. To Ensure simple fault remedy, cleaning, and maintenance of recording equipment within the service.
