Full Job Description
As a Skills Coach you will play an integral part in coaching and mentoring apprentices through their training programme, helping them and their employer to ensure they successfully achieve their Apprenticeship. You will build effective relationships with employers and coach, mentor, manage and review apprentices who are based in the workplace, and attend college for training. You will be expected to support the apprentices in the workplace with site visits and evidence gathering. A food industry background is desirable for the role.,
- Deliver and assess apprenticeship training, coaching learners to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed.
- Conduct initial assessments, skills scans, and inductions for apprentices and employers.
- Support employers to maximise apprenticeship opportunities and identify added value qualifications.
- Carry out formal progress reviews every 8-10 weeks, creating action plans for those needing additional support.
- Travel as required for delivery and reviews; mileage and accommodation costs are covered, with a vehicle provided for substantial travel.
Substantial industry experience in relevant occupational area - Relevant Level 3 or above qualification in occupational area or equivalent
- Maths and English to at least level 2, (Old Grade C or above, or New grades 4 or above)
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) (or a willingness to achieve within a specified timescale).
- A fast learner, with an open manner and good interpersonal skills who can adapt quickly to the College's operating environment
