Full Job Description
Managing both Kier staff and labour framework operatives and procuring plant / materials to deliver the works programme safely and efficiently
Producing and reviewing construction phase plans to control and manage Health and Safety on site
Acting as Principal Contractor in managing scheme delivery by subcontractors
Consulting with Project Managers/Designers/Commercial and programmers.
Engaging with clients, the public, elected councillors, and parish councils
Inspecting quality of work in accordance with the Inspection Test Plan and scheme specifications
Have experience managing projects under NEC 4 contracts and can confidently oversee programme, cost, quality, and commercial requirements
Hold an HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline
Possess industry-recognised certifications, including NRSWA Supervisor, 12D M7 Traffic Management, and SMSTS
Hold a full driving licence and are comfortable travelling to sites as required
Have strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing both directly employed teams and civil engineering contractors to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 per year + £5,900 annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Site Manager, you'll be working on highways infrastructure projects including interchange and junction improvements, new builds, town centre regeneration, and active travel schemes, as well as maintenance projects such as carriageway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage improvements, and structures repairs. Working on a live public highway, you'll promote a human-focused approach to safety whilst managing both Kier staff and labour framework operatives.
