Site Director

Are you looking for a new opportunity where you can operate at a senior level and make a tangible positive impact? We are looking for an exceptional person to join our Savoury Pastry Leadership Team as Site Director at Walker & Son! This is a pivotal leadership role with full responsibility for the day-to-day operation, performance and strategic direction of a major manufacturing facility. You will report to the Managing Director. Your direct reports are the site cross-functional senior leadership team who will be your key stakeholders and enablers to deliver operational excellence, sustainable growth and industry-leading customer performance.,

• Developing and executing the site's operational strategy in line with wider business objectives.
• Building, developing and inspiring a high-performing leadership team and workforce.
• Championing customer focus and ensuring customer needs remain at the heart of decision making.
• Take the lead in strategic business planning, performance management and budget delivery.
• Defining and delivering capital investment plans, capacity improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environment and employee wellbeing.
• Driving engagement across the site and building strong relationships with customers, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Take responsibility for business continuity, risk management and contingency planning activities.

• You will have significant senior leadership experience within food manufacturing, operations or a related operational environment.
• Having proven success delivering large-scale change programmes, cultural transformation and business improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrating strong commercial and financial acumen.
• You will be able to talk through your experience of managing multi-functional teams within a matrix or group business structure.
• You will have the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership.
• Showing a resilient approach, energy and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Alongside these skills and experience you will have a genuine passion for people development and creating high-performing teams.
