Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our conservation charity as Site Biodiversity Manager. This role will lead delivery of the Biodiversity Action Plan, including creating and enhancing habitats across the zoo site, and expanding the exisiting nature reserve.

Key roles and responsibilities include planning and delivering habitat creation and restoration, coordinating biodiversity monitoring and ecological surveys, and managing species recovery projects. You will provide ecological advice across the organisation, collaborate with staff, volunteers, and external partners, and support conservation education and engagement. The role also involves identifying and securing funding to support conservation initiatives.

Applicants should have a degree in ecology or a related field (postgraduate desirable) and experience in habitat management and delivering biodiversity projects or action plans. Strong project management, communication, and data analysis skills are essential. Experience with GIS or habitat mapping, and holding relevant protected species licenses, are desirable. A full UK driving licence is required.
