Thames Valley School is an Autism Specific Specialist Free School seeking a Site Assistant/Caretaker to support the Facilities Manager. We are looking to appoint an outstanding Site Assistant/Caretaker to join our school and take up this fantastic opportunity. You will be passionate about developing best practice in your role and be self-motivated to continually update your knowledge and ensure practice in the school is compliant with all necessary regulations and legislation. LAT Academies Trust currently includes two other free schools, Church Lawton School & Vanguard School. The schools work to maximise the standards, curriculum offer, training and employment opportunities. This role will enable you to influence & contribute to the future of the LAT Academies Trust schools. Who we are looking for: We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual who will have a wide range of skills and experience, who is looking to work in an ambitious and rewarding environment. You will:

  • Hold a driver's licence and own transport - due to dual site location (RG2 & RG30)
  • Relevant practical skill qualification such as City & Guilds - Basic Plumbing and Electrics (desirable)
  • Maintain Security and Safety: Ensure the security of the school site, including opening/locking up the schools, monitoring alarms and reporting any breaches.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including dealing with intruders and ensuring the safety of all users.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other staff to define tasks and ensure the site operates efficiently.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and participate in training programs.
  • Carry out general maintenance including (but not limited to) painting and decorating, basic classroom improvements, basic plumbing and electrical works, furniture set-up etc.
  • Hours of work: 25-30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. There may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet specific or special requirements. What we can offer you In addition to a competitive salary, the following benefits are offered:
