Sister / Charge Nurse

The post holder will provide high quality nursing care to patients, participating in the setting of standards of nursing practice within a cohesive multidisciplinary team. The expectations within this job description will be met through leadership, hands on clinical practice, education and training, and research. The Haematology ward is looking to recruit a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will need to have experience from working in a cancer environment and have excellent communication and leadership skills. You will be expected to support the Ward Manager in the day to day running of the unit providing leadership in theirabsence. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who would like to build their management and leadership skills.,

• Good basic education
• Experience in caring for haematology patients or acutely unwell patients, Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
• Understanding of Clinical Audit & Clinical Governance, Good verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to develop own practice
• Cannulation, phlebotomy, Diploma in Nursing
• Teaching and Assessing Certificate
