We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for the orthopaedic Ward L35 at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). We are looking for a dynamic Sister/Charge nurse, who thrives under pressure, and would be proactive and involved in continuous change and development of the ward, who can work collaboratively and as part of a large MDT. Applicants must be enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Knowledge/experience of audits, Mentorship, Orthopaedic surgery would be advantageous in this role however support for personal and professional development will be given according to the needs of the individual. Why you should join our Team The Trauma & Related Services CSU comprises of
Trauma, Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, High Dependency Unit and also the Major Trauma Centre. The role is an exciting one, involving direct strong leadership, and teaching, auditing and clinical skills to support the service. Ward L35 prides themselves on the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care. Currently Ward L35 currently has 27 trauma and orthopaedic beds. What you will bring to the role The successful candidate will be a registered nurse, preferably with experience in trauma orthopaedic or surgical nursing. Previous experience in ward management or team leadership would be an advantage. This role will involve working shift patterns flexibly across days, night's weekends and bank holidays following full training and a supernumerary period. Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to be able to work both in a team and also independently using initiative to make decisions in a busy but rewarding environment.
