Simulation Educator

The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences is seeking an experienced, innovative Senior Lecturer to join the Simulation and Immersive Learning Centre (SUSIM). This Grade 9 academic post is offered on a two-year fixed-term basis on the Education & Research (Education) pathway. It is available full time, although applications for part-time working will be considered.

You will design, deliver, assess and evaluate high-quality simulation-based education; contribute original educational and simulation research; and develop impactful innovation, engagement and partnership activity. Working across Singleton Campus, Saint David's Park Campus and Hywel Dda University Health Board sites, you will collaborate with learners, faculty, multidisciplinary clinical teams and senior leaders.

Your principal activities will include:

Developing curricula and learner-centred uni- and interprofessional simulation.

Mentoring faculty and supporting colleagues to integrate simulation-based learning.

Undertaking and disseminating high-quality educational and simulation research.

Implement translational simulation, quality-improvement and system-learning activity.

You will hold a PhD/Doctorate in a relevant subject or a degree with relevant professional experience or qualification, a recognised teaching qualification, and current medical or healthcare professional registration. You will bring senior clinical education experience, evidence of educational or simulation research and innovation, and expertise across simulation modalities. Knowledge of national simulation standards, including HEIW and ASPiH requirements, is important.
