Shunter Driver

Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Shunter Driver to join our Despatch team at Westerleigh.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe movement of trailers around site using a Terberg unit, ensuring operations run efficiently and on schedule. Working outdoors, you will play a key part in supporting our loading and dispatch activities.
Key Responsibilities
Move trailers safely between the trailer park and loading bays.
Carry out daily tug and trailer inspections and report defects.
Ensure vehicles are correctly fuelled and refuel when required.
Monitor temperatures of refrigeration units.
Liaise with despatch, yard, goods-in and wash teams to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate HGV movements around site.
Maintain clean and tidy loading bay and yard areas.
Adhere to all Health & Safety, Hygiene and Company procedures.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.

Previous shunting or lorry driving experience is essential.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
High level of Health & Safety awareness.
Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends when required.
Ability to prioritise workload and work as part of a team.
