Short Breaks Workers

Are you caring, enthusiastic and passionate about supporting disabled children and young people? Kids is looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as Short Breaks Workers in Waltham Forest. This rewarding part-time role offers flexible working hours that can fit around your existing commitments. You will provide 1:1 support to disabled children and young people both within their homes and out in the community, helping them enjoy activities tailored to their interests and hobbies. Activities may include:

• Visits to local parks and soft play centres
• Swimming and cycling
• Trips to museums or local shops
• Supporting participation in community activities
You will play a key role in promoting independence, inclusion and personal development while delivering person-centred support. You will also provide practical and emotional support in line with each child or young person's individual support plan and goals.

We are seeking reliable and motivated individuals who:
• Have experience working with disabled children and young people, or a good understanding of their needs
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing
• Have excellent communication skills and can adapt their approach to suit individual needs
• Can work independently and use initiative
• Are available to work evenings, weekends and school holidays
• Bring enthusiasm, commitment and a positive attitude
Desirable: The following would be an advantage:
• NVQ in Childcare or equivalent qualification
• Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Moving and Handling training
