Full Job Description
This is an SHO level post in Medical Oncology to start in August 2026 in Chelsea. Resident Doctors are split into teams which are allocated to work with specific tumour groups. There is a rolling rota, comprised of six CMT, one GP trainee and several locally employed Resident Doctors. In addition, the day work will be supplemented by two physician associates. The shift pattern covers standard and long days, Twilight shifts, Acute Oncology Service and weekends. Clinic days are allocated in the rota. On a long day, the doctor is ambulatory and reviews patients who are attending the Hospital as a day patient. This post is based at our Chelsea hospital and involves working closely with Consultants, Specialty Registrars (SpRs), Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), and ward staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.,
- Taking day-to-day responsibility for the management of inpatients within your allocated firm.
- Providing cross-cover for other firms when required.
- Admitting patients, conducting daily reviews, and completing discharge documentation for all inpatients.
- Reviewing patients with clinically significant imaging findings and liaising appropriately with the patient's oncology team.
- Assessing patients attending for radiotherapy or chemotherapy when requested.
- Participating in the weekend on-call rota.
