Shipping Coordinator Apprentice

FM Conway is recruiting a Shipping Coordinator Apprentice to join our Aggregate and Asphalt Division, working within our Shipping Agency Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, developing practical skills and industry knowledge as you work towards your Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner qualification. You'll work closely with the Shipping Team to develop a strong understanding of the coordination service of the Shipping and Rail Service we provide to our clients. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Gravesend site. What will you be doing? As a Shipping Coordinator Apprentice, you'll combine your studies with practical, in-office experience. Your responsibilities will include: + Working towards your Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner qualification, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the role + Taking responsibility for successfully completing your apprenticeship and achieving your work-related qualifications, including your End Point Assessment + Building relationships, coordinating Shipping by contacting vessels, booking vessels, establishing arrival times, liaising with port agencies and associated stevedores + Generating orders, receipting goods and resolving invoice queries + Providing general administration support to the team

You don't need extensive industry experience to join us,we're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and keen to learn Ideally, you'll have: + A grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English + A genuine interest in shipping and supply chain + Good communication skills, written and verbal + The ability to listen, follow instructions and work as part of a team + A positive attitude and willingness to learn Most importantly, we're looking for people who are motivated to learn, ready to get stuck in and want to build a future with FM Conway.
