Join JLL as a Shift Engineer on a prestigious corporate account, forming a key part of our integrated facilities management services. Based at a large corporate campus in Sunbury-on-Thames, this role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity of a critical environment. This is a full-time, site-based role operating on a continental day shift pattern (07:00 - 19:00), which includes participation in an on-call rota. This position offers a significant opportunity to manage and execute control of work services, supporting projects, operational activities, and small works across the client's portfolio. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all LV systems, with a strong focus on technical excellence and safety.,
- Technical Operations & Maintenance + Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on all LV electrical systems, ensuring they meet SLA requirements. + Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on LV/ELV control systems, power quality, and building management systems (BMS). + Operate, maintain, and diagnose issues with HVAC systems, including VAV, FCU, chilled water circuits, pumps, and controls. + Manage and maintain critical power infrastructure, including modular UPS systems, standby generators, and auto-changeover systems. + Oversee and operate DALI lighting systems, including software adjustments and re-addressing (training provided). + Install and maintain new plant and equipment as required, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard.
- Safety & Compliance + Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all work adheres to JLL and statutory Health & Safety procedures. + Operate a rigorous Permit to Work system, producing method statements and risk assessments for planned works. + Manage and monitor water hygiene (L8) compliance and associated water treatment systems. + Respond to emergencies, outages, and building alarms, escalating issues to the Technical Services Manager and completing detailed incident reports.
- Contractor & Project Support + Coordinate, plan, and monitor sub-contractor work, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. + Provide technical support for small works and larger projects, working alongside project managers to meet deadlines. + Undertake site surveys to inform planned works and remedial actions.
- Data & Systems Management + Utilise a tablet for real-time data collection, managing your workload through our CAFM system. + Monitor and analyse environmental conditions and equipment performance, making recommendations for improvements.
- Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar engineering role within a corporate or critical environment (e.g., data centres, trading floors).
- Strong electrical bias with proven expertise in LV systems, UPS, standby power, and power quality analysis.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, including VAV, FCU, and chilled water circuits.
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) for fault-finding and operational use.
- Proficient with IT systems, including MS Office and the ability to quickly learn bespoke CAFM and permit-to-work software.
- Competent in reading and interpreting system drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation., Holds or has held an Authorised Person (AP) appointment (e.g., LV, Hot Works, Working at Height).
- SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH certification.
- Experience with thermographic surveys.
- Knowledge of fire suppression and life safety systems., A proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
- A flexible approach to work, with a willingness to work evenings and weekends to support operational needs.
- A collaborative team player with a meticulous, process-oriented mindset.
