Full Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Team Leader will supervise and provide direction to the shift team at the ERF site. To plan, implement and monitor systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensure health, safety & environmental compliance on a 24-hour shift system. The Shift Team Leader will be the Senior Authorised Person (SAP), complying with the Safe System of Work. They will supervise contractors, when carrying out activities on site.
Accountabilities to include:
Supervising the shift teams, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the ERF plant, prioritising workloads to ensure maximum process efficiency in line with KPIs.
Maximise waste throughput and energy output.
Organise shift cover when required, ensuring shift complement is maintained.
Be on call to provide Shift Cover at weekends.
Carry out return to work discussions with team member returning from absences.
Developing shift team members through undertaking personal development and performance appraisal meetings and action plans.
Flexible working requirements to achieve KPI's.
Ensure that all activities within the ERF plant are carried out in a safe manner in line with policies ensuring that all Health, Safety & Environmental statutory requirements are met.
Manage the Safe System of Work as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
Carry out risk assessments to ensure activities are carried out in a safe manner.
Ensure all visitors and contractors to site are inducted in the site safety and emergency procedures.
Routine testing of site emergency safety and environmental procedures and recording information as required.
Ensuring all Operations Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks are completed when due and recorded on CMMS.

Hold Engineering qualifications, preferably ONC / HNC (or equivalent).
Hold Safety qualifications, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH.
Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems and a good understand of environmental health & safety within a process or power industry.
Excellent communicational skills are required at all levels; both verbally and written, and an ability to carry out team briefings, participate in detailed shift handovers and write concise reports.
Previous Process or Power Plant experience.
Experience in safe systems of work, issuing Permits To Work / safety documentation and systems.

The salary for this role will be £65,363 per year plus Shift Allowance, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.
