Full Job Description
An exciting has arisen for a Shift Manager to join the team at our Preston site near Hull (HU12 8TB). The successful candidate will become an integral part of the site's management team, effectively and efficiently managing the daily operations of the Retail Production area whilst maximising profitability, reducing waste, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Lead and manage shift operations to achieve productivity, efficiency, and KPI targets
- Optimise staffing, skills deployment, and labour planning to maximise performance and minimise overtime
- Reduce downtime, waste, and production losses through proactive operational management
- Maintain accurate operational systems and use data analysis to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement
- Develop, support, and hold teams accountable through clear communication, performance management, and feedback
- Ensure compliance with all quality, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards, including CCP monitoring and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient product flow and operational success
- Promote a safe, sustainable workplace through effective training, health & safety compliance, and responsible energy and waste management
Experience within a similar role - Shift Manager/Supervisor/Experienced Team Leader - Proven track record of managing teams and achieving results
- FMCG food manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Management of quality systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong level of computer skills (Microsoft Office)
