Job Description

Business: SARIA's operations in the UK are active in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group's companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company also produces biofuels and renewable energy and provides services for farming and the food industry. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country.

The Position

Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at the Company's SARVAL Nottingham site. This site is a 24-hour operation running 365 days per year. The role is a full-time permanent role, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for you to provide on-call support, which will be discussed at the interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as and when required.

Responsibilities

• Working under Health & Safety guidelines


• Initial responsibility to Engineering Team Leader


• Liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes


• Understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant, odour control, and effluent treatment plant


• Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation


• Carry out breakdown repairs to factory equipment in a timely manner


• Provide assistance to other shift members as necessary when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management


• Site electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader


• Perform routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules


• Be on call for a proportion of the time

The Person

• Have served a recognized City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship


• Extensive electrical experience working in a continuous process environment


• Experience in handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns


• Proven experience with fault finding


• Ability to troubleshoot and solve process problems


• Familiarity with general factory maintenance practices


• Conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives


• Basic mechanical skills


• Experience of plant operations


• Ability to work using own initiative


• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team


• Excellent communication skills and ability to converse at all levels
