Location: East Surrey College - Redhill

Hourly Rate: £30.31/hour (£25.26/hour + £5.05/hour as payment for annual leave)

Position Details

We are currently seeking to appoint two inspirational and enthusiastic Sessional Counselling Lecturers to join our Professional and Service Industries department. One of whom will be teaching at Level 4 and the other will teach Level 2.

This is a specialised role and we would require someone who is ideally trained in SEG or CPCAB and has significant private practice experience.

Working closely with the Lead Counselling Tutor, Programme Manager, the Director of Learning, and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will also act as a course leader, promote attendance, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area. You may be required to contribute to open evenings, parents' evenings, and similar events as and when required.

Candidate Requirements

Level 2 Requirements

• A recognised teaching qualification with experience of marking and assessing learners.
• A counselling qualification, such as a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or higher).
• Recent experience in counselling practice.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Desirable for Level 2

• Experience of teaching CPCAB counselling programmes.

Level 4 Requirements

• A recognised teaching qualification, with experience of marking and assessing learners.
• Experience of teaching at Level 4, either as a Lead Tutor or Co-Tutor.
• A recognised Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or higher).
• Current or recent experience in counselling practice.
• Membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
• Current supervised counselling practice, with a minimum of 6 months' post-qualification counselling experience.

Desirable for Level 4

• Experience of delivering Skills and Education Group Awards qualifications.
