Service Manager

Due to the scale and complexity of the transition to the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), two exciting and unique opportunities have arisen to join Velindre Cancer Service (VCS) as Service Managers, supporting the delivery of this transformational programme. These fixed-term/secondment roles will provide additional operational leadership and practical delivery support to services as they prepare for one of the most significant developments in the Trust's history. Working across clinical and operational teams, you will help ensure that services are ready to move safely and effectively into the new facility, whilst maintaining high-quality patient care throughout the transition period. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting operational readiness, service transition, dual running arrangements and post-move stabilisation. You will work closely with senior operational, clinical and nursing leaders to coordinate readiness activities, manage risks and dependencies, support the implementation of new ways of working and help ensure that services are prepared for sustainable delivery within the new cancer centre., You will plan, coordinate and deliver operational readiness required for the move to the new Velindre Cancer Centre, including:

• Supporting the development and delivery of operational readiness plans across the various services.
• Working with operational and clinical teams to identify readiness gaps, risks and dependencies, developing clear actions and mitigation plans.
• Coordinating readiness evidence across operational areas including patient pathways, workforce, digital systems, operational policies and business continuity arrangements.
• Providing additional operational management capacity to the Directorate to help maintain service performance whilst preparing for transition.
• Supporting the implementation of new operational processes, service models and ways of working.
• Working with services to improve patient flow, scheduling, access and capacity planning arrangements.
• Supporting safe service continuity during the dual-running period and helping teams manage challenges associated with working across current and future facilities.
• Monitoring performance, readiness milestones and benefits realisation, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately through governance structures.
• Facilitating workshops, operational readiness meetings and engagement activities to support staff through change.
