Full Job Description

We are now looking for an additional Service Controls Technician to join our elite Service Technician team - The true heroes of our business! What will you be doing as a Service Controls Technician?

  • Independently manage large sites and/or supervise other technicians, meeting customer expectations and contract requirements without supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and support technically challenging breakdowns on site and remotely (PC/phone link-ups).
  • Commission Carrier chiller controls (e.g., Plant System Manager), advise on wider system integration, and identify issues beyond Carrier's scope of supply.
  • Apply energy-saving strategies by selecting and implementing appropriate control methods for different hydronic systems.
  • Respond, as directed, to service calls for contract and non-contract customers.
  • Be fully competent in two, and expert in one, of the following areas: Technical, Commercial, Supervisory/Management.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME), supporting the Training Manager in developing and delivering training when needed.
  • Produce clear, detailed technical reports and dilapidation surveys.

    Very high level of technical competence is required with relevant experience on Chilled water hydronic systems.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar role in the HVAC industry
  • Ideally have qualification in BEMS & Controls.
  • Full UK Driving licence (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds or equivalent in Safe Handling or Refrigerants
  • Technical competence is required with relevant experience of both Carrier and other manufacturer's equipment.
  • Strong communication skills
