Senior Vice President, Tower Hamlets Social Value & Local Impact lead

Operating at the intersection of philanthropy, community engagement, and public-private partnerships, you will build the trusted relationships needed to create meaningful and sustained pathways to opportunity. You will translate local insight into clearly defined priorities and measurable outcomes that deliver sustainable impact. The role calls for a strategic and collaborative leader who can navigate a complex stakeholder environment with credibility and purpose. As a Social Value & Local Impact Lead in the Global Philanthropy team, you will lead JPMorgan Chase local community and economic development programmes and investments across Tower Hamlets. You will develop the strategy and plans, translating local insights into clearly defined priorities, partnerships, and measurable outcomes. You will establish trusted relationships with local anchor organisations, collaborate closely with Tower Hamlets local authority and private sector organisations across the borough, and partner across the firm to design and deliver locally relevant programmes. • Develop and lead the Tower Hamlets community impact strategy, grounded in local insight, and aligned to firmwide priorities and local economic development needs.
• Establish and sustain robust relationships with trusted community leaders, anchor local organisations and private sector/employers, convening local stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, and challenges.
• Serve as the primary interface on community and social impact with Tower Hamlets local authority and relevant public sector stakeholders, enabling constructive collaboration, transparency, and aligned delivery.
• Partner closely with internal JPMorgan Chase stakeholders to ensure coordinated and joined up initiatives, leveraging the firm's capabilities, networks and convening power to strengthen impact.
• Manage a portfolio of grants and partnerships from end to end, encompassing partner sourcing, due diligence, grant structuring, approvals, governance, partner engagement, review of interim and final reports, and tracking of deliverables and milestones.
• Define outcomes and measurement approaches for the portfolio, ensuring that grants capture impact credibly, monitoring progress, consolidating learnings, and refining programmes to enhance effectiveness and sustainability.
• Prepare concise briefings, updates, and materials for senior audiences and partner forums, maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain organised trackers, meeting notes, partner records, and decision logs, anticipating risks and dependencies, escalating issues appropriately, and ensuring delivery against agreed timelines.
  
  Substantial, demonstrable experience in philanthropy or social impact, community engagement, local or place-based economic development, public-sector partnership, or a closely related field.
• A proven track record of developing and delivering strategy and investment plans, whether place-based or thematic, including prioritisation, partner mapping, execution planning, grantmaking, and portfolio management.
• Demonstrated experience of working with local government and local private-sector stakeholders, including the ability to navigate public-sector processes and establish credible, trusted relationships.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior internal leaders and external partners holding differing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear briefings, stakeholder updates, and meeting materials.
• A highly organised and detail-oriented approach, with the capacity to operate autonomously across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel for trackers and data, Word for documentation, and PowerPoint for briefings., Direct experience of working in or with Tower Hamlets or adjacent East London communities, supported by an established network across community organisations, anchor institutions, and local delivery partners.
• Experience on social mobility, small-business support ecosystems, community finance, and/or financial inclusion initiatives.
• Experience of collaborating with internal corporate functions to support coordinated external engagement within a complex stakeholder environment.
• Exposure to the UK planning and regeneration context, including an understanding of how community benefit discussions relate to local stakeholder engagement, subject to appropriate processes.
