Senior Theatre Practitioner Anaesthetics

The successful candidate(s) will have a dynamic approach/attitude to support the Team leaders in the running of theatres to facilitate safe, efficient and effective perioperative care., The post holder carries responsibility for the management of the Operating Theatres either in Main or Day Surgery Unit by appropriate deployment, delegation, co-ordination and supervision of all grades of staff in his/her charge in the absence of the Team Leaders in order to provide a 24-hour service.In conjunction with the Team Leaders, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of the department. This responsibility includes ensuring all staff work within the competencies appropriate to their professional qualifications, providing clinical expertise to all staff within the operating theatre team. The post holder will deputise for the Team Leaders in their absence.

You will have excellent communication skills, able to work using your own initiative and work effectively within the operative team.

The candidate should have at least 4 years experience as an Anaesthetic Practitioner.

The successful candidate(s) will have experience in a range of specialities and ideally out of hour's emergency work.Full participation in 24/7 working, which will include nights, week-ends, evenings and an on-call commitment is required.

An innovative bonus system for Band 5/6 Registered Practitioners who participate in out of ours/on call commitments. This payment includes the Agenda for Change hourly rate PLUS an additional £14 per hour.
