Job Title: Senior Surveyor


Job Location


Senior Surveyor Buxton, Derbyshire. The role involves attendance at the client's Council offices at Leek and the opportunity to work from Alliance Norse offices at Harpur Hill. The company employs an agile and flexible working strategy, allowing staff to work some days at home, but due to the senior nature of the role and client liaising, attendance at least 3 days a week is required.


Projects


The current workload includes a comprehensive estates programme across a diverse property portfolio. This is a senior and high-profile position responsible for activities at this level and supporting junior team members. Engagement with the client's senior management team is extensive. The candidate should have knowledge of strategic asset management to develop actions from the client's recently completed SAMP.


Main Responsibilities



  • Identify, review, and provide strategic advice on property management and regeneration issues, and formulate strategic plans for land and property assets.

  • Develop active relationships with customers, members, officers, stakeholders, and partners.

  • Conduct property reviews and provide strategic advice on property management issues.

  • Meet reporting targets for property reviews and management issues.

  • Assist with general practice surveyor work in accordance with professional standards.

  • Prepare reports and briefings; attend committees and working groups as needed.

  • Provide professional property advice to clients, maintaining output quality.

  • Manage projects within timescales, aiming to maximize income and productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with Norse Group ISO standards and deliver quality outputs.

  • Perform additional duties as appropriate, including travel to other offices.


Our Successful Candidate



  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an estates-related discipline.

  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience post-qualification.

  • Experience working within a Local Authority.

  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.

Senior Surveyor Buxton, Derbyshire Up to £65,000 (Dependent on Experience) 37 Hours per week Alliance Norse is a partnership between Norse Group and High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The Joint Venture (JV) company was formed in 2022 to provide a number of services to the two Councils. As from the 1st April 2025, the JV also included the Estates & Asset Management functions. An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Surveyor/Asset Management Surveyor to join the Estates team to assist in the delivery of current Estate & Asset Management services, working alongside the established Estates team and client. The role will require attendance in the clients Council offices at Leek but there is also the opportunity to work from the Alliance Norse modern offices at Harpur Hill. We employ an agile and flexible working strategy allowing staff to work some days at home but the senior nature the role and requirement to liaise with the client will require office
